Terrible photo, but this is a seriously good looking car in person. Yes, it shares a lot with the other Jags, but it works so well on a sedan this size. Hopefully they sell a lot so I can see more. Anyone know how it’s selling? The reviews have been great, but they’ve been out for a while now and I’ve only seen one... doesn’t seem like a good sign, but maybe this is a poor market for them.

It was selling great...

then the F Pace was released and sold twice as much in half the time.

Which is slightly annoying because the F Pace killed any hope of this:

Hopefully the XF Sportbrake proves to be insanely popular again and Jaguar reconsider an XE Sportbrake.

Yep I’m starting to see F-Paces everywhere. They looked like someone stretched an XE hatchback in photoshop. It looks great for a crossover-hatchback thing, but a proper wagon would rule.

I don’t see the appeal of these. They’re pretty much just Audis, especially from the rear. I feel the rear lights have no character whatsoever. In fact I feel the whole car is just like a bigger Jag but with all the cool stuff taken out until all that’s left is just a car .

There are quite a few kicking around in Australia.

I get what you mean. For me it’s just the shape. It is a classic, no apologies RWD sedan. I’m not seeing Audi at all - Audi A4/A6's are very clearly FWD-based shapes They rely on gimmicky grilles and LED’s to cover that up. The XE shape is more similar to a 3-series or C-class. If you take the badges off, it is still clear that it is a premium compact sedan versus a mainstream FWD sedan. What I like about the XE is the lack of forced styling. It’s pretty much what a 3-series would be if you got rid of all the stupid creases and just leave the basic shape. I love it, but I can see how it could come off as bland.

Fair enough. Maybe the modern overstyled cars have left me expecting something more. It looks quite nice from the front, it’s the rear I have most beef with.

I get that. Personally I like it, but I can see how it could come off as bland and the lamps trying to evoke the F-Type but not really doing it justice.
